How to simply connect sensors and lights to reliable low-power IQRF mesh network?

How to simply connect sensors and lights to reliable low-power IQRF mesh network?

Let us explain how wireless and secure IQRF technology works.


The central point is an IQRF gateway. Any new device in IQ mesh network forms new connection point and makes the network stronger.
The intelligence of network sits mainly on the IQRF Gateway and partly on IQRF devices. 
Cloud can be used for remote management or data collection.
If a problem occurs with cloud or ISP service, local management and functionalities are maintained, except remote management and cloud-based non-critical functions.
If the gateway has an issue, the backup gateway can take over functionality automatically. The main gateway can be replaced next business day.


In case of any online service drops, locally autonomous network works. 
Only online services are down.
Except for remote control, the whole solution works even under offline status.


In one IQMESH network, you can have more than 200 devices. All devices working as routers repeat the message in their timeslots so the signal can reach the furthest places in the also problematic environment.


IQRF devices can work in various modes from the point of view of energy consumption. If you combine these modes, your device can work for years on a battery.


With one IQRF transceiver, you can communicate in a space of tens or hundreds meters. It depends on the type of environment. In free space, it is certified for coverage of 500 meters. If your network has more than 200 devices, you can communicate on many square kilometres.


The technology is secure. The security is multi-layered and based on AES-128 encryption. Everything is done by IQRF operating system.


IQRF transmits on ISM band at a bitrate of ca 20 kilobits per second. Communication is packet-oriented. One packet can be up to 64 bytes long. It is intended for small data transmission, like sensors' or status values, control commands etc. It works bidirectionally. You won't pay anything for devices transmission as they work on the licence-free band.


There are various IoT simple projects based on IQRF or more complex consisting of many simple solutions. If you add more functionality to your solution, it will be more competitive.
Products certified on IQRF interoperability can be easily put together in the complex project. See more use cases on the IQRF Alliance website.


Especially in lighting projects, you can simply integrate IQRF transceivers into your lights or you can use Dali bridge to easily connect your light to the IQRF network. Your network is operated through the IQRF gateway which you can buy from the IQRF manufacturer or other partners. You can use ready services for you lighting network control and monitoring or you can ask the IQRF manufacturer for customization.

Přetíženost silnic v okolí Škody Auto v Kvasinách pomáhá řešit CITIQ, člen IQRF Alliance

Škoda Auto zaměstnává více než 8000 lidí ve třech směnách a většina z nich se dopravuje do zaměstnání automobily. Část pomáhají svážet svozové autobusy, část je motivována zaměstnavatelem k využívání kol, ale stále zde zůstává většina těch, kteří využívají automobil. Okolní vesnice – Kvasiny, Solnice a Ještětice jsou dopravou těchto zaměstnanců extrémně přetěžovány, průjezdem i nežádoucím parkováním. Pro výstavbu odstavných parkovišť v okolí se prozatím nenašly vhodné pozemky. CITIQ instaloval v přilehlých vesnicích detektory průjezdu, kterými lze monitorovat jak samotný průjezd, tak i délku a rychlost vozidel.

CITIQ, a member of the IQRF Alliance, helps solve roads overload near Škoda Auto in Kvasiny

Škoda Auto employs more than 8,000 people in three shifts and most of them travel by cars there. Some of them use buses, part is motivated by the employer to use bikes, but most of them still use cars. Surrounding villages - Kvasiny, Solnice, and Ještětice are extremely overloaded by employees transport and unwanted parking. There is no suitable place for the construction of parking lots in the area. CITIQ has installed traffic flow detectors in adjacent villages to monitor both the traffic flow and the length and speed of vehicles.
